Sister
Elizabeth
Marisol Cruz Perez
Hi! I am Elizabeth Marisol Cruz Pérez,
originally from Monte Santa Cruz, Department of Cuzcatlán,
El Salvador, Central America.
I am the daughter of Juana Pérez
and Florencio Cruz, the eldest of six children, four
girls and two boys.
My primary studies were done at the
town “Monte
San Juan” and my high school at Cojutepeque. I
received the certificate of Secretary in 1994.
The first Sister of Charity of the Incarnate Word I
met was Sr. Juana Margarita. She invited me to participate
in vocational sharing and to an experience as a student
at COAR. I only stayed for one year and then returned
home. During this time, I dedicated myself to study and
work, always participating in the Church. However, the
question remained with me: What do I desire to do with
my life? I was always looking for the road that would
bring me happiness in what will be my call.
In 1999, feeling the presence of God and attracted to
Religious Life, I decided to begin the process of Affiliate
and enter the Formation Program. In 2000 I became a Postulant
and I have been in the Novitiate in 2001-2002.
During the process of discernment in Initial Formation,
and through my community and apostolic experience, I
learned about the charism and the spirituality of the
Congregation; aware of the commitment as a daughter of
God and as an advocate to those most powerless. On January
25, 2003, I reaffirmed my baptism, this time with conviction
and maturity, pronouncing the Annual Vows of poverty,
chastity and obedience that are a means to live as a
CCVI and serve the people of God.
