The fourth annual Nun Run, a motorcycle ride from Houston to Galveston, will be held October 18, 2008. Hosted by the CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare in collaboration with the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, the ride benefits children and their families at the CHRISTUS Southwest Community Health Center.

•  Activities begin at 9 a.m. with on-site registration and a breakfast at Villa de Matel, the Motherhouse of the Sisters. The ride begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends at Fisherman's Wharf in Galveston.

•  Early registration fee is $35 and a ticket to take a Sister on a ride around the Villa grounds is $10.

•  T-shirts featuring the Nun Run logo of a Sister in habit riding a motorcycle will be available for a donation. Proceeds are used to buy Christmas presents for 500 needy children as well as gift certificates for food for their families at the Center.
